Not Just your everyday shirt

Description

I started the day with a normal, size large, v-neck tie-dye shirt.... and this is the creation I ended with.

I used this tutorial to weave the sides: [link]
Tying the sides made it skinnier, so now it actually fits nicely. (top two photos on the right)

Then, I cut off the sleeves, cut out the neckline, and turned each of the cut off sleeves into a long strip which I wrapped around the remaining shoulder straps to make it more comfortable and like a tank top. (both left side photos) I still haven't figured out what to do with the long ends left over from wrapping the straps.... should I cut them short, let them dangle, tie in a bow???

Last, I rummaged in my ancient supply drawers, pulled out my old "beadie buddie" sets and found beads to add to the end of the bottoms of the woven part. (bottom two photos on the right)

So, for the story behind it.... I went to support a friend at his track meet, and there was a booth selling these tie-dye t-shirts to raise money to help one of the coaches wives who has cancer. I decided to buy one but there weren't any in good colors and the perfect size, so I bought one a size or two up in pretty colors. Today I realized I could finally try reconstructing a shirt, like I have meant to do forever and I am very proud with how it ended up. (I did this with just a pair of scissors, my hands, the shirt, and a few beads.... no sewing!)

I would love to know what you think of it!

This weaving is GREAT! I've done a lot of T-shirt modification, but I haven't gotten around to trying the weaving yet.
